Building a new build to replicate a Georigan or period home?

July 23, 2010 by David Feldman

what saddens me is the lack of new construction, which never reaches beauty of period properties. I am an interior designer by trade, and support within the original concept seemed to end. I recently was invited to help advise a client who bought the land in Wiltshire and I am based in Northumberland , I created a virtual mood board / scrapbook for meetings help to build but expensive and mood boards. We really want it to look old and the use of smoothing windows, hard frame 8ft Georgian and reclaimed wood flooring, you can see the difference? Why not adopt a new design styles longer period of property, unless it is a modern building and in a class of its architecture? I knew landscaping and bedding plants at the age of the property was an important factor, as too often new buildings plonked on a piece of land and no softening or aging have been considered in Landscaping. Has anyone had a new version that they are satisfied with and adopted this approach and how did you process? Clever combine modern additions such as an orangery to house a kitchen and a billiard room. < ; / P> I’m curious to hear from anyone who has implemented new construction properties reproduce the period and scope of the project and what you are facing challenges and what materials do you source it is much more expensive?
